1. (often upper case) the abode of all the demons.
2. hell.
3. a place of riotous uproar or lawless confusion: *whenever a Western shed finished shearing, the nearest town used to be pandemonium for a fortnight –c.e.w. bean, 1910.
4. wild lawlessness or uproar: *The police grey caps charged for no reason, followed by the horses, and suddenly there was pandemonium –aap news, 2000.
